WHERE IS HOME?

Imagine growing up while having some of the most spectacular National Parks in your own backyard. You grow up being one of those people who's personality revolves around mountains and pretty views. That's the Utah kidz vibe. I remember the exact moment I realized that I loved being outdoors and most importantly I loved taking a photo of Mother Nature.

I was staying in a lodge in a nearby mountain town with my dad and younger siblings. We went for a bike ride and I had to stop and take a photo on my cherished iPod. Once I got home I put a teal filter on it and I never looked back. Utah is every Granola's fever dream.

I was also blessed to have grown up traveling back and forth from my dad's hometown in the heart of Mayan culture in Chiapas, MX. We're talking about a jungle jungle, like from the movies. Monkeys, alligators, jaguars + parrots, Mogley would be jealous. Monstera plants just climb up trees for fun, no grow lights needed! Horchata de coco on the street corners with tacos available at your pleasure.

Growing up with so much beauty around me, I knew that I needed a way to take it all in, my camera provides that for me. Thank you little guy.

MY TWO CUACKYS

So there's this little guy, he can't quite talk or walk yet but he is my reason for breathing. I'm thoroughly convinced that my husband and I are the luckiest of people to exist because we have him. Motherhood and the connection my handsome bestie and I share are the things take up the most room in my heart. I treasure having a snapshot of my moments with them. They help me understand why photography is so important.

EDUCATION

For a long time I wanted to teach children all about language. I had plans on being an English teacher and -----. I find that using written or spoken words to communicate thoughts and emotion is such a beautiful thing. I'm entranced by stories, books were always my safe space growing up. In the same sense photography is my way of telling stories, using shadow, light, colors and raw emotion.

Something about a still moment, purposely captured really makes my heart feel so full. I genuinely ador capturing these irreplaceable moments that without my camera would just drift away.

Jane Austen but using pictures to tell stories.
